Updated Calendar of Events!

Below is a list of important dates for the rest of the year. This includes our meeting/journey work days as offsite activities for other badgework. Also their are just important registration dates as well.

Let us know if you have questions! Our journey work is well under way, so be sure to join us for those times so the girls can stay on track in earning their journey badges!

Please note, we are planning a friendship circle with girl scouts in our SUVA unit. Girls from all over the world will create a friendship circle with flashlights at 7:12 p.m. to celebrate Girl Scouts 100 year anniversary! We need a rough idea who will be joining us so we can make sure we have enough for hot cocoa and other materials afterward. Ann Ryan is coordinating and will send more details as we get closer. We just need a rough headcount from our troop for now.

We are still waiting on dates for our annual Girl Scout Mass, and we may have a summer event as well. We are also talking about an event the girl's decide to do based on what the girls that sold cookies wish to do with their money that they raised. So stay tuned!

March 8th -Community Service Book Drive and POST World Read Aloud Day-awareness for literacy, all troop event. Details to come.

March 12th, 7:12 p.m. 100 year friendship circle with flashlights and shirts, hot cocoa after, more details to come

March 17th, Marching in St. Patrick's Day Parade

March 22nd junior meeting we lead our panel discussion with our chosen panelists about their roles as women

April 8th, Spring Camp deposit due for people going, $10

April 14th, World Thinking Day all troop event and journey work, all troop event, times to come

April 21st, 9-3, 'Girls Mean Business' Woodridge Journey world event for journey work, more info about fees and rides to come

April 26th, all troop meeting

May 10th junior meeting, Journey work, Defining beauty, hand out camping stuff

May 18th-19th, Juniper Knoll Camping Trip

May 24th junior meeting, Journey work, "who I may be" session for final journey award work

June 8th all troop meeting, Bridging, Court of Awards and Potluck

IT'S COOKIE TIME!

Hey girls! It's cookie time again. To make it easy, we have posted an order form right here that you can print out if you need it. Orders are due on the 28th. Late monies and orders need to be paid in full at pick up.

Here was Miss. Lisa's previous e-mail regarding details to cookie sales. Please do the bet you can! It is for our troop! (Miss. Flora)

Girls, please DO THE BEST YOU CAN to sell, sell, sell!  The incentives for selling cookies are listed on the second PDF sheet.  The troop can decide whether to "go for the incentives", or to go for an extra .10 cents per box back to the troop!  We will discuss these options with the entire troop at our next meeting on January 19th.  Our troop automatically earns .65 cents per box sold.  Add in the extra 10 cents and the troop has the ability to earn a total of .75 cents per box sold!

All orders and money are due back to either Flora Caputo or me by:  January 28th.  Ask family, friends, teachers, neighbors, church acquaintances, co-workers, your postal person and anyone else you can think of, to place their order with Y-O-U!!! 

The money earned is placed into the Junior Troop account and is only to be used as the girls decide.  Back in November, we discussed goals and dreams of how they would like to use their money.  We will re-visit those goals and dreams with the girls at an upcoming meeting!

In addition to the pre-orders, the girls will be expected to participate in site sales.  The troop will order additional cases of cookies to be sold at a selected site and selected dates (possibly Walgreen's, CVS, Jewel, etc...to be determined at a later date...)  There will be a sign-up sheet when the time approaches (dates will be the last part of February and much of March; typically on weekends.)
